The Other Side

I love low budget horror movies. Love them to bits I tells ya. However, contrary to popular belief, I don't think they are good movies. They appeal to me, but not in the same way as a good movie appeals to me (if that makes any sense).
That being said, once in a while you get a pleasant surprise. A gem in the rough, so to speak. This movie is one of them.
The basic idea of the movie is that a person (Nathan Mobley) escapes from Hell with a bunch of other souls, and then proceeds to track down his killer. Only catch is, the escapees are being hunted by invincible Reapers. The bodies of these reapers can be destroyed, but they can then possess a corpse and resume the hunt.
It's an interesting premise for the movie, and the director (Gregg Bishop) knows what he is doing. The acting is surprisingly good considering the budget (less than $15k, apparently), especially from Mobley and the 2 main supports, Cory Rouse and Poncho Hodges. The movie is more of an action/thriller with a horror twist, but it pulls it off well.
If you are looking for something to blow you out of your seat, well, this isn't it. However, if you are looking for a fun, well done movie, give this one a go.
For the record: Gregg Bishop is the f*cking man. He also directed Dance of the Dead, one of the fun-est zombie movies I have seen in a while. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for this guy, he's going places.
